Our Advocacy Work
At WCAEO, we are steadfast in our commitment to promoting and defending human rights through proactive advocacy in courts, media platforms, legislative bodies, and public forums. A core part of our mission involves challenging laws and policies that undermine human rights, particularly those that disproportionately impact vulnerable and marginalized communities.
We strive to raise public awareness by conducting in-depth research and disseminating accurate, evidence-based information about human rights violations and regressive, anti-poor legislation. Our goal is to inform, engage, and empower the public to demand accountability and justice.
In critical areas where legal frameworks are absent or inadequate, WCAEO has taken the lead in formulating progressive legislation and policy reforms. Our advocacy has focused on vital issues such as:
-
Protection against child sexual abuse
-
Addressing communal violence
-
Securing the right to food and employment
Beyond legal advocacy, WCAEO also facilitates counseling and public engagement initiatives designed to spark meaningful dialogue. We foster open discussions and debates across local, state, and national levels, encouraging inclusive participation in shaping a just and equitable society.
